About Us

Ian Rosser opened his practice in 1984 with a passion for service and to enhance people's quality of life. Since then the practise has grown considerably. It was Ian's passion that led him to research colour blindness and as a result he opened the first Colourblind Sight Centre.

Since then Ian has treated people from all over the world and has become one of the world's leading Optometrists in Colourblindness. There is now a growing network of Colourblind Sight Centres across Australia.

Our Colour Assessment Testing takes about 2 hours, as we proceed to determine the density and particular colour deficiency of our patients. Our computer is calibrated as if the patient were looking through the colour correcting lenses themselves and by a process of elimination the correct lenses are chosen and then tested in a trial frame for the patient to view.

The reaction of our patients, when fitted with the appropriate colour enhancing lenses for their particular deficiency, leaves them initially speechless as to the beauty of their new Coloured World!

It is a moving experience for most of them and their families.

The ability to see real colour is everything to our patients as they are so thankful to have been given the benefit of this technology in their lifetime.

When I ask them, 'Is this anything like you thought you would see today?', the response is always, 'Never in my wildest dreams, I would never have believed it if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes! It’s like a miracle!'
