FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Should you have a question that is not covered below please feel free to contact us. What do the ColorView lenses look like? The coatings applied to the lenses make up a density of tint. They look like reflective sunglasses. At what age would you start wearing colour corrective spectacles? The benefit of educating colours from childhood allows early colour discrimination and acceptance from peers. Will I have to re-educate my colours? There is a certain re-education as the filter coatings shift the colour spectrum, to place the colours back in the end they belong and allow new colours to be visible. Can these ColorView specs be worn at all times? Primarily, best times are daylight hours. They can be worn inside at night but they will require adequate lighting. They do filter UV light as well. Can I have my prescription and the ColorView specs? All prescription lenses can be fitted to the selected frame, with the ColorView correcting lenses fitted to the matching clip-on. We have found this offers better clarity and is easier if a spectacle prescription change is necessary in the future. Can I drive with these lenses? General feedback from patients wearing ColorView lenses state they feel safer and more comfortable once they are visibly able to discriminate road signs/car headlights much more easily. ColorView Technologies do state they are not recommended for driving, especially at night. Can these ColorView lenses be worn to pass medicals in colour tests for various industries? Not to our knowledge. You would need to seek that information from the relevant official departments. Will they be coming out in contact lenses? ColorView tells us they are being trialed in the States by the FDA (Food & Drug Administration). However, no time frame has been given as to if or when Australia could be marketing these lenses. From time of order, when can I have my new ColorView specs? Colour correcting orders can normally be delivered within 10 working days. Priority orders can be arranged. • All existing patients will be sent a half yearly Newsletter, updating technology and relevant information regarding treatments for Colour Deficiency.
